Air India and Air Mauritius have expanded their codeshare partnership to enhance air connectivity between India and key destinations in South Africa, Madagascar, and Reunion via Mauritius.

Under the strengthened agreement, both airlines will now place their designator codes on 17 routes across India, Mauritius, Reunion, South Africa, and Madagascar. This move significantly boosts travel convenience, offering passengers seamless booking and connections under a single ticket.

Air India will now place its ‘AI’ code on Air Mauritius-operated flights to Cape Town and Johannesburg in South Africa, and Antananarivo in Madagascar. The Indian carrier already codeshares on Air Mauritius flights connecting Mauritius with Mumbai, Delhi, and Reunion.

The renewed agreement was signed by Air India CEO & MD Campbell Wilson and Air Mauritius Chairman Kishore Beegoo during the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) annual general meeting held in New Delhi.

This strategic partnership is aimed at improving regional connectivity, promoting tourism, and streamlining travel between the involved countries.
