Capgemini India has announced plans to hire between 40,000 and 45,000 employees in 2025, reinforcing its commitment to artificial intelligence (AI) driven transformation. The move comes amid growing industry adoption of AI and automation technologies.
The company revealed that 35-40% of the new hires will be lateral recruits to bolster critical business functions, while the remaining positions will be filled by fresh graduates from over 50 partnered academic institutions across India. Capgemini emphasized that all new hires will be trained in AI from the outset as part of a revamped onboarding and upskilling strategy aimed at aligning talent with future project requirements.
As part of its broader AI push, Capgemini is also progressing with the acquisition of WNS, a major step that, once completed, will mark the company’s largest acquisition by workforce size. The deal is currently awaiting regulatory approvals and is expected to close in the next six months.
WNS’s advanced agentic AI technologies are expected to complement Capgemini’s existing capabilities in data, analytics, and business process services. The acquisition is projected to generate revenue synergies of USD 100 million to USD 140 million by 2027.

Despite the scale of integration, Capgemini has assured that it does not foresee large-scale job reductions. The company reaffirmed its historical approach of maintaining employment stability during mergers and technology transitions.
With an existing employee base of approximately 175,000 in India, this hiring plan further consolidates Capgemini’s footprint in the country. It also stands out at a time when several tech giants are scaling back on hiring due to cost optimization and automation strategies.
Capgemini’s recruitment and AI-centric training approach aims to meet rising client demand for scalable, intelligent solutions while fostering a future-ready workforce.
