LTIMindtree, L&T to Build India's First Quantum Tech Hub in Amaravati

- LTIMindtree and L&T join hands with GoAP, IBM, and partners to develop the Amaravati Quantum Valley, positioning India at the forefront of quantum innovation.
- LTIMindtree to drive deep tech research, while the hub will house India’s largest quantum computer as planned, in collaboration with IBM.
- L&T to design and manage advanced R&D facilities, collaborative spaces, and community zones to connect academia, startups, industry, and government.
Amaravati is set to become home to India’s first quantum technology hub, with LTIMindtree [NSE: LTIM, BSE: 540005] and its parent group Larsen & Toubro (L&T) emerging as key technology and infrastructure partners. The announcement, made at a recently concluded event in Amaravati, underscores their commitment to shaping the Amaravati Quantum Valley in collaboration with the Government of Andhra Pradesh (GoAP), IBM, and the broader quantum ecosystem.
LTIMindtree will lead quantum research and innovation through its Quantum Centre of Excellence (CoE), focusing on deep tech research, incubation, and translating fundamental science into real-world industrial and societal applications. L&T will spearhead the design, development, and management of the Quantum Valley’s infrastructure, leveraging its expertise in large-scale, high-precision construction to create foundational assets.
A major highlight of the project will be the Quantum Computing Centre, which will host the IBM Quantum System Two poised to be the largest quantum computer in India. L&T is working closely with IBM to address complex building requirements needed to house quantum computing systems. Plans for the centre are advancing rapidly, laying the groundwork for a future-ready ecosystem.
“Advanced computing is redefining innovation. Through our Quantum Centre of Excellence, LTIMindtree is driving deep tech research and incubation translating fundamental science into industrial and societal impact. We are proud to take this journey forward in alignment with the Amaravati Quantum Valley and the overall National Quantum Mission”, said Venu Lambu, CEO and Managing Director, LTIMindtree.
