Marriott International, Inc. has announced that it has signed an agreement to establish The Luxury Collection on the Dodecanese Islands in Greece. The hotel chain will renovate the Patmos Aktis Suites & Spa and launch it as Patmos Aktis, a Luxury Collection Resort and Spa, which is expected to open in the summer of 2024. This will be the only luxury resort on the serene Island of Patmos, which is renowned for its picturesque coastline and distinct spiritual energy.

Patmos Aktis, a Luxury Collection Resort and spa in Greece, draws inspiration from the island’s rich heritage to offer a tranquil and timeless escape in the serene beauty of Grikos Bay. The resort has been reimagined by Stylianidis Vaggelis Architects and Anastassiadis Architecture & Design, with renovations including all 56 guestrooms, suites, villas, and additional guestrooms to be added by 2025. The resort's signature restaurant serves local island delicacies with a contemporary twist, while the bar and terrace offer breathtaking bay views. The hotel’s refreshed Spa offers rejuvenating rituals and signature treatments designed to detoxify the mind and relax the body, mirroring the spiritual energy of the island. The culinary vision for Plefsis Tavern, a traditional Greek taverna on the beach, includes authentic Dodecanese cuisine with a fresh look from design touches inspired by its seafront setting. Each guest's wellness journey encompasses a balancing welcome drink flavored with rose petals, which have relaxing properties, and restorative experiences, including mystical sessions with Tibetan bells and a range of beauty treatments with rose essence products.

The interior design concept, led by Patricia Anastassiadis, blends The Luxury Collection's authentic and experiential standards of luxury with Patmos Aktis' essence of simplicity. The resort is planned to feature a soothing and calming color palette of creams, whites, and soft blue tones throughout. Additionally, local artwork and traditional Greek design touches are set to be incorporated to reference the island's ancestry and beautiful, unique landscape.
