This five year old company was founded by Prashant Karmalkar (MD) in 2011 to address the issues of fragmented HR consultancy domain of India. His years of extensive experience in the industry both India and abroad worked miracle for the company, as it
received projects even before it had a name and an office to operate from. Within a shut eye time, Prashant has established his Thane-based startup as a consulting firm specializing in classic consulting services like HR strategy & business strategy, human capital solutions and Analytics that serves clients like Aditya Birla Financial Services, ICICI Lombard, Ultratech, Mahyco, Thermax, Volkswagen, Legrand and many more.

Although Consulting is the fulcrum offering of the firm, it helps its clients in Competency Frameworks, Business Process Optimisation, Value Chain Analysis, Performance Management and large scale OD interventions. Understanding early that HR technology is still at a nascent stage in India and that various functions of HR work in silos, the firm focused extensively to develop niche and unique HR technology offerings like strategic workforce planning and also provided enterprise ERP and package SAP HCM solutions to clients that work in cohesion. It also works on building strategic and business acumen and provides leadership development training. “We use online real-time business simulations as a part of the entire
leadership development process and perhaps I think we are the only ones in India who are using it effectively,” says Prashant.

Another area where the company has been recently working on is in the field of analytics and integrating people analytics with customer analytics leading to better top line for companies. All these services are charged on cost plus model, but the company is planning to make a shift to value minus pricing model in the near future.

Prashant believes that people learn when they are given enough opportunity to try and do something different, thus allowing his employees the freedom to work on areas they prefer through its non-bureaucratic work milieu. Not bounded with rules-string, the 25 odd full time personnel of the organization are free to choose their work-hours and get concurrent feedback on their performance as and when things happen.

Looking to become the most favored HR consulting firm for clients & consultants as measured by client value, and expecting the revenue growth by 50 percent by the end of this year, Circular Angle now endeavors to establish various offices within and outside India in the next three years through self and partners. The focus geographies being Australia, SAARC and Middle East Prashant being an Australian citizen of Indian Origin and having worked and lived in three continents has the right exposure to lead the next wave of growth sans boundaries, living true to their core value of being ‘simple. honest’.
