The Genesis
The foundation of Kerala-based SafetyCatch was brought about in the year 2010 with a vision to help humanity thrive by reducing accidents and ill health due to work. The founder, Anil Gopinath served in the Indian Air Force's Airfield Safety Operations for over 18 years. He was also on deputation with the United Nation's Mission in Congo where he worked with the Emergency Crash and Rescue operations team. During the UN tenure, he could attend few on job training and got hands on to International standards like the OSHA & NFPA. He thought with such higher standards be applied / promoted to Indian population, the youth would stand good chance of getting employable in foreign / Indian companies where there are lot of opportunities for safety professionals. Also, by promoting and spreading these standards across Indian Industries could substantially raise the standards of Occupational Health & Safety in India. He started pursuing higher qualifications in this field and then on completing his initial engagement with the Air Force started this dynamic venture, literally from scratch.
Safety Catch provides Occupational Health & Safety Training, Consultancy & Recruitment services. The company operates across four verticals - Industrial Safety Training where it provides a wide array of occupational safety & health related training programs such as HSE Management, Safety Leadership, Scaffolding Inspector / Erector competency, Fire prevention, Control & Emergency Evacuation, Safe Lifting & Rigging; Academic Safety Training where it provides Internationally accredited occupational safety & health related programs such as International Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health, Diploma in Industrial Safety, NEBOSH-IGC, IOSH Managing Safely,
Environmental Sustainability; HSE Consultancy & Audit where it provides occupational Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) consultancy and Auditing services, and HSE Recruitment where it serves as a point of filtration so that the client gets most suitable and competent professionals to work for them.
Meeting the Objectives
The company has a very robust quality policy. "We believe that Safety is awareness and awareness can be given only through quality training & other services. Customer satisfaction is our highest priority. We are ISO 9001 certified and follow its guidelines and requirements so as to ensure standardization in our operations," says Anil. The team has developed a training policy that covers selection of trainers, preparation for training, conduct of the training, measuring the effectiveness and taking the feedback and further improvisation. It continuously adapts its resources to change. It puts the trainers & staff on capacity building workshops in which they are informed about the changes happening in the marketplace. "We draw our future strategies from our staff as well as clients. We believe that if you are not updated you become outdated," he asserts.
Every trainer at SafetyCatch is time served professional who work directly with companies to assess health and safety training needs and helps in the selection and customization of the programs suitable for them. The team of specialists ensures that course content is aligned with their training objectives. Not only this, the company employs the most experienced and qualified trainers with direct experience of industry. At the initial stages, SafetyCatch conducted only one single international program which was on demand at that time namely, the OSHA 30 Hours Safety certification. Over the years, it could develop as a major player in the industry catering to over 100 Corporate Clients. Some of its prestigious clients include the Mumbai Metro Rail Project, Chennai Metro Rail Project, ADANI, L&T, TATA Projects, VOLTAS, SIEMENS and Chennai Petroleum. "Till now, we have trained more than 10,000 HSE professionals who are working across the globe. From one international certification, we have now more than 10 certification program on our roll. We have also spread our operations to Saudi Arabia & Qatar," he mentions. The company continuously adapts its resources to change. It puts trainers and staff on capacity building workshops in which they are informed about the changes happening in the marketplace. "We are getting orders from across India. To meet up with the growing demand we need to operate from different locations. So, we are planning to give Franchisee, add up partners and investors," he concludes.
