Government Sets Up Consultant Cell to Tap Central Schemes

- Goa government plans to utilize central government schemes to fund key infrastructure and welfare projects.
- A dedicated coordination cell has been created to oversee implementation and maximize benefits from these schemes.
- Departments have been instructed to align project proposals with central funding programs to ensure smooth execution.
The Goa government is stepping up efforts to boost infrastructure and welfare development by tapping into various central government schemes. To make this happen, the state has set up a dedicated cell under the Directorate of Planning, Statistics & Evaluation. This cell will coordinate and monitor all centrally-sponsored and central sector schemes, helping streamline funding and project execution.
Officials have asked all state departments to prepare project proposals that align closely with the objectives of central schemes. This alignment is crucial to secure funding from the Centre and ease the financial burden on the state treasury. The targeted projects cover a broad range of sectors, including health, education, transport, water supply, urban development, and social welfare.
The new coordination cell will act as a bridge between the state and central agencies, ensuring that project proposals meet required guidelines and deadlines, thereby increasing the chances of successful approvals and timely fund releases.
