The latest version of ISO standards focuses on the strategic process. That is a fantastic tool to make the strategic management process more effective. Besides, most companies are struggling to understand the finer aspects of its implementation. In addition to this, the company also has to identify the strategic risks and opportunities associated with the business. Unfortunately, this part is not being dealt with properly by companies implementing ISO. Correlating same with the interested party concerns is one of the biggest challenges, today.

ASPM Consulting having identified this gap comes to the rescue. ASPM has prepared a lean matrix that covers interested party concerns, risks, opportunities, and their mitigation plans, all under one roof. It uses SMED (Single Minute Exchange of Dies) philosophy while mapping the entire exercise, which makes customization easier. “As far as the strategic management system implementation is concerned we have mastered the art,”says Mandar Pandit, Director, ASPM Consulting, assertively.

Boasting rich technical, commercial and managerial capabilities, ASPM Consulting believes in giving a realistic solution, where the company evaluates the conditions with a 360-degree view of circumstances, weigh the options and consider the organizational culture and management philosophy and provide a solution. “At times, the solution may not be in alignment with the management philosophy. However, at ASPM,
we believe in providing our clients with ‘Right Advice’ rather than agreeing to everything that the client management says. That at times may create some animosity, however, we use, emotional intelligence to deal with it,” shares Mandar.

The Work Speaks for Itself
After understanding the nuances of moving an organizational mechanism to achieve a specific objective, in his 20+ years of work experience, Mandar Pandit had spent his best years as a consultant. He has been certified as Lead auditor for ISO 9K, 14K as well as OHSAS & ISO 45001and has worked on the implementation of ISO 9K, 14K & OHSAS. Also, he has successfully delivered projects as an employee with Gammon India, where he had been instrumental in carrying out multi-standards implementation across 130+ construction sites and has played a pivotal role in implementation, right from planning to execution.

Taking the entrepreneurial plunge in 2014, his brainchild ASPM Consulting started its journey by onboarding its first client Computrics in December 2014, and from there onwards, there was no looking back for them. It was followed by another opportunity to establish systems for Arshiya Limited. The real break came in September 2015, immediately after the standards(9K & 14K)were published. EWAC Alloys Limited signed up with ASPM for implementing the 2015 version. EWAC was amongst first few companies that were ISO 9001:2015 certified. That provided lots of visibility in the consulting space for ASPM.

The relationship with EWAC further provided ASPM its first multisite assignment involving seven zonal offices, head office, and one reclamation site. As the word spread, L&T Group of Companies signed the contract with the company, where it was involved in assisting their PGM departments, which provides 13 different services to L&T Group of Companies. Currently, the company is working with a gamut of clients in updating its standards and assisting them in strategic business process implementation. Few of its other clients include Tata Housing, PI Industries, CDSL, Saigal Sea Trade, and many more.

The Future Looks Bright
Growing 300 percent YoY, at present Mumbai based ASPM Consulting is at an expansion phase, where it is venturing into other areas of consulting. “In the course of our operation we realized that there is a dearth of good consultant in the financial domain to advice SME’s,” states Mandar, “Also, we are looking out for angel investor or equity partnership to take the business to the next level.”

Optimistic about the future of the company, Mandar concludes, “We are planning to start NBAL, ISO 22000 and ISO 31000 services this year. Next year, we will be focusing on ISO 27001, BCMS, and IT related consulting services.”
